Andrew Hysell is the Project Director for the Campaign for Healthy Kids. As Project Director, Andrew oversees Campaign policy activities and determines overall strategy and direction for the Campaign.
Andrew also serves as the Associate Vice President for Policy and Advocacy for Save the Children’s U.S. Programs. Andrew joined Save the Children in 2006 as the Director of Policy and Advocacy. He serves as the lead for policy change on issues impacting children in rural America. Under his leadership, the Policy and Advocacy team manages federal and state government affairs for Save the Children’s U.S. Programs.
Previously, at the Connecticut General Assembly, Andrew served as Legislative Counsel to the Connecticut Senate Democrats, focusing on state constitutional and administrative law. He honed his advocacy skills as Regional Advocacy Director for the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, serving on the front lines of the tobacco fight at the state level, assisting several legislative wins, including the passage of the nation’s strongest smoke-free air laws in Delaware, Connecticut, and New York. He worked for Congressman Tom Allen (ME-1) in his efforts to advance campaign finance reform during the 105th Congress and Andrew also has experience working on numerous issue and candidate campaigns.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Carroll College. In 2003, he earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the Georgetown University School of Law. Andrew is a founding member of the Connecticut American Constitution Society and also an elected local Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for his north Capitol Hill neighborhood.
Deputy Project Director

Carol is the Deputy Project Director for the Campaign for Healthy Kids. She is responsible for day-to-day operations for the Campaign and support for the Project Director.
Carol also serves as the Operations Manager of Policy and Advocacy for Save the Children’s U.S. Programs. In this role she handles cross-departmental advocacy operations and planning and provides ongoing support for the Policy and Advocacy team.
Prior to this position, Carol served as Legislative Assistant to State Senator Gayle Slossberg at the Connecticut State Legislature. She has also worked for Connecticut Congressman Bruce Morrison and Senator Joseph Lieberman and has held campaign manager and finance director positions for state and federal political campaigns.
Carol holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in Political Science from Southern Connecticut State University.
Associate Director

Clark is the Associate Director for the Campaign for Healthy Kids. He manages Campaign policy activities in the western region of the U.S., including: Arizona, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas and Washington. Clark is responsible for outreach to key stakeholders and grantees in each state and developing, maintaining and leveraging relationships to achieve Campaign objectives.
Clark has nearly 15 years of professional experience working on state-level policy development and implementation. Recently, he worked on the leadership team of the Connecticut Behavioral Health Partnership/ValueOptions, which managed the state of Connecticut’s Medicaid behavioral health benefit. As a Senior Policy Analyst with the Connecticut State Majority office for over ten years, Clark was responsible for assisting legislative leadership in the development of appropriations and revenue packages. His career began as a budget analyst with the Executive Budget Office in Rhode Island.
Clark has a Bachelor of Arts in History and Business from Brigham Young University and a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Connecticut.
Associate Director, Communications

Jennifer is the Associate Director of Communications for the Campaign for Healthy Kids. In this role, Jen manages Campaign messaging, maintains the web site and produces marketing and communications materials to support and propel Campaign policy goals and activities.
Jen also serves as the Director of Marketing and Communications for Save the Children's U.S. Programs.
Jen has than 12 years of communications and marketing experience, most recently with Rails-to-Trails Conservancy where she served as Vice President for this national non-profit. She has strong experience in working collaboratively across departments to achieve organizational goals through multi-year planning and campaigns.
